Thomas Hardy:

that I not be buried on concecrated ground
that no sexton be asked to toll the bell
that nobody is wished to see the dead body.
that no mourners walk behind me at my funeral
that no flowers be placed on my grave

Barclay adds: "I too would put my name to that. When I die I should like to leave without a fuss- for what matters is not that I am leaving but where I am going."

Well said.
